Newton Solney Women’s Institute – May 2023.

Our new year started with an open WI Meeting, very well attended by partners and friends. Rodney Paul, our speaker for the night, gave us a talk on the ‘The Antarctic Adventures of Sir Ernest Shackleton’. The story was very inspiring and a lesson in excellent leadership. Our programme for April 2023 to March 2024 has now been published. We have a wide variety of speakers to entertain us, from how a Chiropractor can help with back pain to a Cha Cha dance night. Our speaker for May, to compliment the Coronation is a talk on Queen Elizabeth II & Prince Philip, entitled ‘A Right Royal Couple’. New members are very welcome. Our current age range is 40 to 90+, and we do endeavour to make sure there is something for everyone. If you would like to know more about our full and interesting programme, please contact our President Denise Parker – Tel 01283 701496

Newton Solney Tuesday Club – Dates for May 2023.

On our last trip to Nottingham, we filled the mini-bus, and everyone seemed to have a good day shopping and lunching. At our April Meeting, instead of a speaker we played Bingo. Hazel did a valiant job as caller with various members reminding us of the “Bingo Lingo. It was a fun afternoon, with prizes of Easter Eggs for the lucky winners A birthday cake which was provided by Chris, one of our members, was enjoyed with our tea and finished the afternoon off nicely.
